June Update from M&P committee

Dear Carstairs Bancroft Congregation Members

Greetings to everyone in this time of Covid 19.  We hope you are keeping safe and well.

This is an update from the M & P Committee, which met in the first week of June, 2020.  We wish to keep you up to date with happenings at the church.  The Chinook region of the United Church of Canada, has come forward with a policy for churches to begin the process of holding worship services in church buildings. This also meets the Provincial Health Authorities guidelines.  It still requires a careful assessment of our church building and a significant amount of planning, signage and other preparations.

Maria has been back in Manitoba with her family since mid April.  She has continued to conduct our Sunday morning online services, daily Encouragements and Thursday morning Coffee & Conversation sessions.  Maria returns to Alberta with her family in the first week of July and will continue to live in Airdrie until they are able to find a permanent home. We will begin a more detailed assessment of our church building and capacities after Maria returns.

Our primary concern when we consider holding, “face to face” worship services in the church, is the health and safety of everyone.

We will continue holding online Sunday services, via the Zoom platform and Thursday morning Coffee & Conversation.

We will also carry on keeping in touch with you via phone calls, and Maria is available for one-to-one pastoral care conversations on ZOOM as well. We have scheduled our next M & P meeting for September 8th, and will be discussing a more detailed plan toward reopening at that time.  Until then, we have determined we will not be considering “face to face” services until some time after September.

The M & P committee is most interested to hear any feedback or questions you may have at this time. Please phone or email any of the committee members.
