March 27

Beloved Carstairs Bancroft United Church Members,
How are you doing today? I hope these daily e-mails remind you of our connectivity, and that you are not alone even if we asked of “social distancing”…
I found today’s “Our Daily Bread” message difficult on one hand, because it brings up an issue that is feared by all of us, and it is death. It is heartbreaking when we face the death of a loved one, and it is definitely scary when we think of our own passing away.
On the other hand there is a good news in this reflection: God is with us even in our death, and the Almighty welcomes us home when it happens.
This good news can also be an inspiration for us as we live our lives here on earth. It encourages us to become faithful children of God, who is ready to ‘adopt’ us through Jesus Christ, with all its privileges and responsibilities.
As we fight this invisible enemy, and face the challenges and then the aftermath of COVID-19; or as we have other trials in life, may we strive to be the heirs that God calls us to be.
Blessings to you All,
Rev. Maria Szabo Berces
